- When I read davidjamesmartin23's comment about the Birdsong, I had to smile. I, on the other hand, LOVE that song! It's great how differently music affects us humans! A fantastic compilation!
- Edited 11 months agop.s.: i changed this review after many listening sessions.
honestly i was not too impressed the 1st time, but with every listening i like it more and more snd now it is one of my favourite mixes in general! fantastic, done with love to details.
by the way: fsol are the most productive lads in this field of music, topping even aphex twin and their range of styles is wider.
have anyone guessed in the late 90s, that there would be much more releases in the new millenium???
it is mindbending, when you realise the mighty output of these two guys and the quality of it.
one could spend the whole life listen only to fsol and their aliases.
i don't know the other mind maps albums, so i can't compare. i love it, maybe besides track 6, which is a weaker one for me.. sometimes i skip it, the other tracks are timeless listening electronica of different styles as it's best, less experimental like the great controlled vista mixes and not so much original like the mindbending & awesome "trip maps" album, which is less electronic and very different. anyway, i love this one very much, this is a fine mix, it grows with every listening on you, the spoken words samples included are great.
there are 3 own tracks, humanoid and fsol, all other are reworks/remixes by yage/fsol, which are only released here. this is a musical journey, which is wonderful from start to end, sophisticated sequenced and made to listen to it very much times without being bored. perfect for a spliffed listening sessions with a decent headphones on the couch;-) - I like this mix with the exception of the terrible Heogen track which comes in right after a really good autechre one. Probably my favourite Mind Maps besides the first one.
