Subterra are a Chilean band founded in 1996 as a Marillion (mainly Fish-era) cover band, so not surprisingly, their 2001 debut Sombras de Invierno was in the early Marillion style. Cautiverio shows the band developing a more original style, with little Marillion influence apparent. While the keyboards evoke 1970s progressive rock, the guitarist and drummer add slight metal touches, and the music is darker and heavier than on their debut. Lyrics in Spanish.
