My copy has the star in A, but a flat label, and matrix numbers matching the 1998 EU version. Also includes an original A4 album promotional flyer which I haven't seen described anywhere else.
Been going back and forth with w few folks on the "slightly different mastering" comment above. both this one and the Europe version were mastered at The Exchange. How was this initial statement given validity?
I own a copy that matches the matrix numbers of this 1998 EU edition. It also has the "star" within A (in AIR) on the label, as well as "double dip" rings with raised label area (and not flat label as MPO's later reissue). Nonetheless, the sleeve printing is a bit blurry on the spine, and on the barcode area. Any tips on the (re)pressing variation?
There's an additional easy way to identify this release: the label. In this european 1998 release is a star printed right in the 'a' of the word 'air'. In all other versions the star is in the 'i'. By layouting the labels, they obviously turned that night sky a bit clockwise - compared to the other versions.
This pressing sounds GREAT!! I've loved Air for years but with each release I've loved more than the one before. I found this pressing and decided to buy it at a low price and very happy I did! Hearing Moon Safari on vinyl for the 1st time breathe new life into it and more depth! Definitely add this to your collection if you can! Now if only Air would do us all a favor&reissue their other releases at decent prices finally!
