Reviews
- Presentation and soundwise everything is great. However, my record 3 has Label F on both sides and is massively warped. A little bit disappointed
- I used the regular size jacket sleeve, but just putting the album from the side (I usually put it so that I can take it from the up). It fits, just the spine is left out of the sleeve, but better than none.
- Edited 16 days agoThe presentation of this 3LP is absolutely beautiful. The jacket had a glossy, embossed Tyler and an Estate Sale tag on the front (which makes it easier to distinguish between the standard and deluxe pressing), along with an iridescent-reflected "CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST" logo in the middle when you open it. The booklet is a nice collector's item too.
The only cons I had of this were (1) the vinyl color, (2) the jacket adhesive, and (3) the size of the jacket.
(1) The vinyl color was supposed to be "Geneva Blue" which is similar to a baby blue. The production color seemed to be almost turquoise. I was very excited to receive a baby blue variant. It's okay though; this turquoise is still nice and unique!
(2) The jacket adhesive that's on the opposite side of the vinyl opening is almost completely gone. The vinyl is able to slide out both ways instead of the typical opening where you would take out the record. I'd be wary of this. ( Edit 9/6: I have examples in this Imgur album, which is also located in the Replies section below: https://imgur.com/a/a0mlKfF )
(3) As another reviewer stated, the LP jacket is a little bigger than usual, enough to the point where a regular outer sleeve can't fit it. I have outer sleeves from SleeveCityUSA (9222 Diskeeper Resealable 3 mil Outer LP Sleeves) and they don't fit this jacket. It surprised me because these are slightly bigger and can fit double gatefolds. Unfortunately, the lip of the sleeve doesn't reach the adhesive line.
Other than that, the record itself sounds standard. The presentation is what stood out the most, and it's honestly worth picking up if you don't have the regular variant. This is a complete package for CMIYGL. - Regular sized LP sleeves won’t fit this triple gatefold, so if you ordered a T-Shirt with the vinyl through GolfWang, the T-Shirt packaging fits perfectly as a protective sleeve.
My copy also has strange floaties stuck inside the LPs . - Flawless. Didn't love this album enough to buy it till the deluxe tracks hit so hard. Glad I held off, sound quality is excellent and I can't say I have any records this cool shade of blue. Top notch packaging too.
- So glad I waited for this version. Randomly passed by my local record shop and picked it up. Love the extra tracks along with the standard version of the album. Pressing sounds amazing and the colored vinyl is so cool and on theme. Wish Safari was on it, but Fishtail is a nice addition.
- I have a love-hate relationship with this one. When I first bought it online I bought it, thinking it was an exclusive. And then I found out. You can literally get it anywhere else right now even at my local record store and pre order. But it’s beautiful pressing.
- I passed my copy of CMIYGL onto a friend to pick this one up, and it was worth the upgrade. Absolutely gorgeous packaging and it sounds excellent. The spot-gloss embossed printing on the cover is so nice and the big lyric booklet is so well done, not to mention that color. Definitely a presentation worthy of this incredible album.
- Sounds absolutely beautiful. Pressing doesn't sound any different from my standard black edition of CMIYGL, which already sounded very excellent. I don't always care for deluxes, but this one had songs that I liked even more than from the original, so I had to upgrade. The only nitpick is that the gatefold has bigger dimensions than the usual record sleeve dimensions, so it sticks out like a sore thumb when shelved. I'll figure something out I'm sure.
