Reviews
- Fantastic, I've got the original pressing for many years and I love that record; I remember finding the iggy remix 1997 cd rather strange, but this vmp one is different. Different in a much much better way, this one is an incredible listen. A must have!!!
- Yep, this is the one. RKS dialed back the detail just a touch from the KPG mix but somehow managed to extract a bit of air, separation and extension from the instruments that wasn't there on previous mixes. I don't know how because this recording is just a giant maxed out brick but he did it, I don't think the Iggy mix is ever going to sound better. Really impressed with this one.
Just for reference it was played on:
2M Black
VPI Sig. Classic
Halo JC3+ - This is the best I've heard of this album. Excellent packaging, lush colour and the sound is far better than I expected!
- I have only ever heard this mix digitally….revelation here. Very good pressing with quality cover, happy to have this.
- I listened to this album over and over throughout my teens and 20s, my ears know it well. This VMP pressing is excellent. Extremely well done and worth every penny. Get it, you won’t regret it. Gimme Danger will blow your head off, beautiful sound.
- +1 for how good this sounds. I wasn’t sure what to expect considering the raw nature of this album…but it sounds amazing.
Killer album. - Great pressing and great sound. Iggy’s vocals up front and clear. Great separation and clarity. Can’t compare to every press, but can say this sounds much better then I expected .

- Just did a quick comparison to the Kevin Gray cut. I feel Iggy is a little more out front here and it's probably more "listenable" to most. The Kevin Gray cut really showcases the wild overblown "in the red" sound that Iggy was going for in his remix. I kinda dig the Kevin Gray more, but I like the VMP version of The Stooges more (with the loud hand claps, etc) and think Fun House is the best album of all time. The Stooges were not meant to be palatable. But I'm not gonna complain about this RKS cut.
