Side C/D is a lot better for me (so far), but side A/B was a bit muddy and noisy

      No, issues here.

      Just brutal lo-fi indie rock.

So, cool to hear indie distorted guitars again.
      Love it.

Mastering and pressing are really good, too 👍

Probably not worth the £45 standard retail price. I get that it’s a triple vinyl, so there are inevitable costs incurred in going with that format, but there wasn’t really any need for that. Two or three songs per side, cool. I may as well stand by my record player the whole time waiting to flip the disc over because by the time I’m settled back on my sofa, it’ll nearly be time to get up again. That’s why I still love my OG 80s/90s vinyl. Five or six songs per side, no worries. That said, I still had to have this. Last Splash. What an album. Right up there with the very best. This version is very cool, as an artefact. Sounds pretty damn good. Hate the inner sleeves! Clingy and scratchy. Also, creased and ring wear showing already, straight out of a brand-new factory-sealed copy. So, £45? Jog on! I got mine from a ‘Like new’ Amazon marketplace seller for £25, so I’m pretty happy with that. Recommended, with all the caveats above.

Some surface noise but a quick clean already tampered that a bit, and it's mainly in between tracks, barely noticeable when the music plays. The sound is great. But why do people keep putting records in these horrible glossy jackets that stick to it, no doubt you get static and background noise... Baffles me.

No issues with my pressing at all ..barely any background noise, sounds good in a 'low-fi' way. Happy with this one.

I love the remaster, it’s been done so tastefully and consistently with the Breeders “vibes”. Do not have a single complaint about that, but unfortunately my pressing is patchy. Noisy and clicky straight out the bag, a bit of an improvement after a clean but for some reason both Flipside and Roi (Reprise) are still noisy and fuzzy as hell. This would have become my default way to Last Splash otherwise!

I have to admit i was afraid to open the shrink after reading all these negative reviews here the last days.

BUT - nothing to complain about here! My copy has no more surface noise than most other new albums - pretty sure that little bit can be easily washed off with a proper cleaning on my beloved Nessie Vinylmaster.

All three Vinyls are nice and flat. No clicks, not a single pop! Sound is absolutely okay with some really nice new textures in the different guitar layers and good dynamic range. Regarding the sound in general, acosta14 summed it up brilliantly further down below here: [/quote] "this album always had lo-fi vibes. So it's not going to suddenly turn into a hi-fi record just because they made a fancy pressing."

                Very happy with this purchase!!

So dudes ... positive review incoming.

To appreciate the subtle increase in quality here compared to other pressings, you kind of have to be a freak about this album to begin with.

When I listen to this I feel like I'm really hearing what's on the master tape. But this album always had lo-fi vibes. So it's not going to suddenly turn into a hi-fi record just because they made a fancy pressing.

The difference is there nonetheless. Especially in passages that have several guitars of different tones & textures – it's easier to pick out the separate parts and hear how they blend.

For those with with QC issues, I don't discount that at all. I lucked out with a mostly clean copy, but I do know how much it sucks to get a new record that's noisy, warped, or has non-fill.

That aside – if you want to get as close to this music as possible, this pressing is worth it. But if you more casually just want Last Splash on vinyl, just get the 2018 pressing.

Received my copy from the bandcamp page. It was noisey as heck. Alot of clicks, some muddiness, and some distortions on other parts and it persisted on all discs. I reached out to see if I could get a replacement copy. After sending some audio files of the problems I was sent an email that said that "Unfortunately we have been experiencing some minor audio issues with the clear LP, so while we can offer you a replacement, we cannot guarantee that you will not run into similar issues. We can also offer you a full refund for your order. Please let us know what you would prefer."

I don't know if they are downplaying the "minor audio Issues" but this was a 45 RPM pressing, it should sound better. I was greatly saddened that this doesn't look like it's the case.

I asked to recieve a new copy, but who knows if it will be the desired quality or not. I keep wondering if this email was a warning telling me that all of the discs were pressed bad. I sincerely hope that's not the case.

EDIT: Received my replacement disks in the mail today. unfortunately the news is that they are actually worse than the originals. So jealous of anyone that got a good copy.

Only listened a couple times, but I'm unfortunately unimpressed with the pressing. Noisy from the needle drop, and what was an already kinda messy mix doesn't honestly sound any better now. I love these songs so much, but would love to see this album get cleaned up a little just to hear another mix option. That said, it still sounds like the album we fell in love with, but don't expect this pressing to be particularly revelatory in any new ways.
