Reviews
- Edited 11 years agoRoughly 10 years ago was the height of the whole electro-clash 80’s synth revival and as quick as it arrived it disappeared. Along with some great stuff releases that were appearing on the International Gigolo Deejay and Ersatz Audio labels there was questionable material that started flooding my local record store bins.
Here I am 10 years later listening to something that captures the 80’s minimal synth sound and I’m starting to enjoy this album. Stand out tracks would have to be the instrumental “Chanticleer Tears”, “Coercions” and “Cadmus” tracks. Unemotional vocals by Martin Pscherer add a nice icy robotic touch. Nico Nightingale will now be on my look-out list when I do record shopping. Scoop his records up before they are long out of print. I also have to wonder if the name Neud Photo is a nod to Derrick May’s Detroit house classic “Nude Photo”. Regardless, this music has struck a chord in my sole and will remain in my collection for a long time. - 16/03/2012 Nico is a genius when it comes to minimal electro. Front to back this is a great mini-album. Vintage gear is used throughout, making for beautiful melodies and hypnotic drums. A very danceable record you can throw into any set. 10/10
