Reviews
- first copy had a big glob of gunk pressed into the grooves, second copy has a locked groove immediately after placing the needle on side A.
fuck this pressing. - Wow I wish they'd put on a different hidden track instead of the snooze pianofest that is This Time Imperfect
- Came back to listen after not hearing it for a while and my copy is terrible noise over the entire first side of the first record. Seems like a mixed bag with good and bad copies of this pressing.
- this variant looks better than the red/black smoke IMO...glad I got it. sounds better too, less noise
- 1A and 2A are crackly for me but sides 1B and 2B sound fine - so, same issue as some others have said. it’s not too awful but still disappointing. 4/5
- Sounds great, I wish more bands from the CD era (for lack of a better term) would put their music on 12" 45s. If we're going to buy a double album that wasn't a double album this should be the way to go. Packaging and artwork are great. No issues getting the records out that others are reporting. Bought this new just after Christmas.
- 4/5 My copy sounded really great. A little bit of crackling here and there, but nothing too annoying. Sound separation and dynamics were great.
- Edited 10 months agoI can surely say this isn't their best repress, clean properly before listening too as there is a ton of artifacts that are on the vinyls, the sleeves are not as pleasant since they are too tight to pull the vinyl out.
Expect some defects or minor ones if you're lucky. After trying out Side A. (update: SIDE B track A same issue) I can see the first track kinda bounced for 50 seconds with crackling, bouncing stopped after that. 2nd to last track just very minor static sounds which won't go away after a thorough cleaning.
10/10 for aesthetics
7/10 for sound quality
Unfortunately they sold out very quick, will keep it for now.
The Digital / WEB 24bit-192 version is much cleaner.
UPDATE
Played all 4 sides. 2nd LP is perfectly clean sounding, zero static. Issue is with the first LP on both sides. - Edited 10 months agoDid i just happen to get a good copy? mine has some very gentle quiet pops here and there but the noise floor is pretty quiet overall. i paid extra attention during side D because that was where people said it was particularly bad but… it’s genuinely fine? this record sounds great to my ears, the packaging is of great quality and the variant is so cool when held up to the light. the inner sleeves are incredible staticky as other reviews mention, it took me about 5 minutes to get record 2 out of the paper without ripping it. I almost didn’t buy this record because of these reviews but I am glad now that I did
- Im half way through side A and so far mine is playing great. A little static/popping but an acceptable amount.
However, I could barely get the first record out of the sleeve, and I can only get the second record about half way out! What the heck!?
