While Bayard Rustin was an accomplished tenor who sang on some of Josh White's recordings, he is more well known for his work in the civil rights movement. Rustin was credited with organizing the 1963 March On Washington, where Dr. King gave his famous "I Have A Dream" Speech. Because Rustin was openly gay, leaders were reluctant to put him in the forefront of the movement.
