This pressing sound amazing , but for me I was cut too loud, sibilance on the Hi hat during P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) or Billie Jean. Like Bernie Grundman told on in a interview , the first US pressing was cut too loud.

I was so lucky to get my copy! i install flooring and i was at work the customer whose parents had past away and he was basically throwing everything away and i seen some vinyl so i asked if could have them and he said yes because he throwing everything out or giving to goodwill. I was pretty sure when i seen the sticker on the cellophane, still had the plastic on it and the sticker said contains the hit single the girl is mine. Sure enough i confirmed online and it does have the fan club form inside. it didn't even looked played. Imagine, he was about to throw it in the trash.

This pressing sonically presents a highly detailed and transparent 3D soundstage that reveals nuances I did not know were there growing up on the Pitman on a lesser 80's turntable. Tons of slam and warm silky vocals that occasionally hint at sibilance which is not necessarily uncommon during this era (or many eras) nor breaks immersion. Agree with others here that this is probably the definitive pressing of this monumental LP.

I just got this OG pressing in VG+ condition (flat with a few minor scratches and NO skips) for only $10. The gatefold is NM, inner sleeve has a few folds BUT the original ‘Fan Club’ insert was also included!!

I have this and the MOFI pressing. Look. I appreciate MOFI try to replicate the magic of this pressing. It doesn’t live up to it. This pressing is THE pressing. Straight analog. The MOFI doesn’t capture the snaps, bells and whistles. Which I believe their digital approach buried them and it is dang shame. The mofi did try it’s best.
This pressing is the closest you ever going to the studio rehearsal. It’s powerful. Every jot and tittle is accounted for. You can’t beat the price for it.
Please get this one and don’t look back.

I was really lucky when I ordered a second pressing in NM quality media-wise but received this first press instead. *g* Very nice sound. Maybe less detailed than the MoFi but much more "groovy". Very quiet surface noise, sound just has a bit of sibilance.
                • Definitely one of the best albums of all time and the best when it comes to vocals

This IS the one to own. I remember twenty years ago playing Thriller and thinking the sound was transistory, spitty, and aggressive. All that spit was simply my table, arm, cartridge and setup not being good enough. The record is no different, it just sounds different now. Which is what makes the record a great test. This pressing has a side two that is so amazing sounding that it completely changed my understanding and appreciation of this album. The average copy is a nice pop record. This copy is a masterpiece of production and engineering. It ended up having the most ambience, the most transparency, the most resolution, the most dynamic contrasts, the most presence — in short, it has more of everything than any copy i’ve ever heard.Sound that came jumping out of the speakers coupled with driving rhythmic energy are the hallmarks of the better copies. The uniquely analog qualities of richness, sweetness and freedom from artificiality are most apparent on Thriller where you most often hear them on a pop record -- in the biggest, loudest, densest, most climactic choruses..Good old Bernie Grundman handled the mastering and managed to do a really nice job; unfortunately, most copies of this mass-produced classic don't have all the magic that he cut into the grooves. The best pressings sure do, though! My copy has -1F/-1G Stampers (Variant 12)!
