- Edited 9 months agoBeen waiting for a vinyl copy of this album for, well, seemingly forever. My pre order never showed up despite waiting months past the allotted date with the shop promising it was coming soon. In the end I cancelled that order, went to HMV and bought it there and then. Phew! Audio is pretty good, not to the heights of the early Swervedriver 12" singles, which are outstanding, but it's more than acceptable considering it was no doubt mastered to DAT. I wonder when the next Swervedriver album will see the light of day...been a few years. Edit-- the rear cover notes mention tape transfers and baking...so this presumably means it was recorded to analogue tape, yes?
- Great album, happy to finally have it on vinyl (after passing on the Zero Hour like an idiot 26 years ago), sounds great, but wow, that cover. I looked up the designer and his other work is fine. Don't know what happened here.
- Pre-ordered a copy and looking forward to owning this, however, I already hate the new album cover art. Why have they done this? Why???
- Very nice pressing of an incredibly overlooked album and stellar outing by Swervedriver. It doesn’t beat the OG Zero Hour pressing, but it definitely compares. The mix is good, volume and pressing are tight and is a hands down no brainer for the price. The only gripes I have is that, for some reason, 99th Dream sounds a little muddy to me, and I did prefer the OG album cover. That having been said, don’t sleep on getting a copy of this. The value is totally there, and currently (as of 12/23) you can order this in a bundle from Outer Battery Records and it comes with a copy of “Film Noir” by Bolts of Melody (which features Adam Franklin) in the band.
