Reviews
Nu Grooves seems to share a lot of sound elements/consutrction with JMJ & Richie - Hall Of Mirrors (Omni Trio Mirror Image Remix), including the stuttered snare, bassline pattern, strings, and the rushing swoosh effect. In fact, the H of M remix sounds so much closer to Nu Grooves than the original that I wonder if London Steppers (as Omni Trio) just added the H of M vocals onto a different version of Nu Grooves and called it a day. Regardless, all are great songs (case closed!).
Due to it's release before the Moving Shadow version and it's exposure on the pirates, it's considered by many as definitive mix of the tune.
Although the later release on Moving Shadow turned it into the classic it has become today, it was stripped of a second vocal present on the original.
The moving shadow version while dropping the vocal, added a hard stuttering snare over the drum track which was never on the original tune.
This made the Moving Shadow release have a more edgy feel to it for it's 1994 release, but less atmospheric and uplifting as the original was.
