Man I really love how this pressing sounds. Just so pleasing to hear the clarity on some of these tracks. Very happy with this purchase

I hear distotions on loud parts, especially on Let Me Roll It. Even with microline stylus. Dissapointed.

This is more of a comment about Half Speed Masters in General, but I will say that I think this is the most dynamic open version Band On The Run I’ve heard, inc originals.
The Nimbus may well be better but I’ve not heard it and it costs a lot more so not a fair comparison.
Half Speed Masters do divide opinions, I’m not speaking about the original Half Speed Recordings of the 70’s and 80’s because I even felt they were bass light due to the cutting method of the time and has been addressed in these contemporary pressings.
No this is about the current Abbey Road series which includes the likes of Brian Eno, Japan and Simple Minds.
So far all that I’ve heard are the equal or better than the originals, but I think it will depend on personal taste of which you may prefer, and possibly dependent on the balance of your system.
Sure originals might have a fuller warmer or is that coloured balance?
The new versions have a clarity about them that emphasis the top end, but it’s not bright just clear and sharp whilst the bottom end has a clean controlled punch about it. Sounding like an upgrade to your system.
As previously mentioned, I think it’s a case of personal taste and would need to be judged on a one to one basis. I certainly wouldn’t knock any I’ve heard to date.
        You pays yer money…..

When I realized I was without a single copy of this record, and was reminded of my crime against nature by a respected peer, immediately getting a copy of this half-speed master was absolutely necessary to restore balance in the universe.
This is a hi-fi record!! Instruments coming at me from all directions.
Everyone should have a copy of this album.
          Restore the balance.

Given how enthralled I was with the previous releases in this series (RAM from this series in particular is worth its weight in gold - It kicks ass), I'm a little disappointed by this one. It doesn't sound bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it also isn't the upgrade over my well-loved, well-played original that I thought it would be either.

HOWEVER... If you don't have a copy of Band on the Run, this will rock your socks off. The soundstage is pristine and I didn't notice any of the dreaded IGD that many records in this series suffer from. Solid 8/10 release.

My copy of this pressing sounds great after I turn up the volume a couple of decibels. Other than that, it sounds very clear, has great soundstage and dynamic range. No audible surface noise that I can discern. I recommend to clean it before first play because of the paper specks from the printed sleeve, and store it in an anti-static sleeve if you have them. My other version of this album is the 2017 reissue of the MPL pressing. https://www.discogs.com/release/11097821-Paul-McCartney-Wings-Band-On-The-Run

Just picked this up after some hesitation based on numerous reviews, but my copy is clean and without any pops or noise and sounds fantastic. A+

I've picked up all the Paul McCartney’s Half-Speed 50th Anniversary albums thus far and zero regrets. I'm well aware they are digital cuts - but they sound fantastic to me. If I run into an original in the wild I might have a chance to do a comparison - but for my needs this sounds great. Also, I know the jury is out on the values of Half-Speed mastering - but all I know is the albums sound brilliant to me.

I did have to give this album a good wet clean before putting it on the turntable though - there were a lot of paper particles from the sleeve. I agree with other people here, a nice poly lined sleeve would go a long way. But anyway once it was cleaned - zero pops or clicks. Like, none. I'm super happy with this one and looking forward to the next release.

I think if you like this album and can't be bothered playing originals roulette - this is a sound purchase.

I'm listening to Let Me Roll It right now and the riff sounds fantastic and pronounced.

I don’t have a previous vinyl copy to compare this to but I was entirely won over after just the first few bars of this one. Sounds great to me and not one pop or defect to speak of. Could have done without Helen’s Wheels being included but apart from that this is a thumbs up from me. Happy to finally have a copy of this iconic record.

Anyone wanting this half Speed copy of Band On The Run get it before stocks run out at your local record store. . I was told by The Concorde Music who are based in Perth Scotland that the rep had told them that both formats i.e. LP and CD versions would not be able reordered. I had to and get from another shop in Stirling who luckily had a copy on Vinyl , Europa Music. Both record shops are worth a visit if in Perth or Stirling respectively.
