- I guess my copy must have been part of the faulty batch. Lots of extreme pops 'n crackles which wouldn't come out after cleaning. The album is solid, if not my favorite PT.
- Edited 9 months agoMastering and mix is excellent!! A very fine sounding record, right up there with Your Wilderness. As far as their best effort, I’m still on the fence, again for me Your Wilderness is tops for me. And pre Gavin for me Someone Here Is Missing is a big record with great powerful songs.
The record is nice and flat, no pressing issues. A really nice soundstage and dynamics are well present….
Analog rig:
Project Xtension 10 with Lyra Kleos MC
Musical Surroundings Nova II Phonopre. - This pressing is very good indeed. It is flat as a ruler and came clean in a polylined innersleeve.
Soundwise it is very nice too. Soundstage is nice and wide, though not the widest. Soundstage depth is present, but wins no awards though. What I like most is the dynamics, it sounds less compressed than the stream on Qobuz.
The sound packs a nice punch, and the highs are nice and present. No harshness, no flat, dull sound. It sounds really nice. Recommended!
The album itself might be their best, too bad it is so short; it leaves me hungry for more.
Used analog setup:
Dr. Feickert Volare with Auris W9 tonearm, Phasemation PP-200 MC cartridge and Lehmann Silver cube phono-amplifier.
