Reviews
- Edited 10 months agoThis doesnt deserve the 1 star given below. Yea its quietly cut but its not bad. I cant compare it others ...yet.,
I will grab an original just to find out if its different. The bass is about where id expect for a live album.
Ive got a really quiet hum that can be heard in the gaps along with surface noise from a the quiet cut but you cant hear it during the tracks. Mids, Highs and lows all sound great . I get the feeling there may have been some bad pressings which happens alot of with big releases but I certinaly dont have one of them. The kick is there certainly listening to Who made Who. Im enjoying this to be honest.
Rega P6 / AT-VM540ML > Schiit Mani 2 > Schiit Lokius EQ > Schiit Jotunhiem > Sennheiser HD660S2' Headphones - Edited one year agoExtremely poorly pressed. Warped records, low volume, clicks and pops. Vinyl noise (very common on Gold coloured records).
I know the sides are long, but it is even worse than the original pressing. And for a live record, all the fadeouts and fadeins between songs. And the inflation is crazy these days. These pressings are not worth its money. $65 in Scandinavia.
Details:
The remaster itself on the 2024 reissues is 4dB lower cut in volume than the 2009 reissues. AL who cut them must have done a different groove spacing, still using the same master (this is not the issue), and also a bit EQ difference, as the kick here is just not present. The mid's are horrible as well. The lows: the vinyl itself has a slight background hum between 30Hz and 60Hz - most likely 50Hz when these errors occurs (e.g. UK/European currents).
This is like fooling your customers, thinking we do not care. And not to mention the silly paper inner sleeves and that "very unique" silly AC/DC fifty printed paper. Wow! (sarcasm). I have this on laserdisc and several CDs, and I'll rather play those meanwhile.
It should have been totally remixed without the stupid gaps between songs, and put out on a 3LP-set for $65.
This is just robbery, and it will be returned tomorrow!
Equipment used: Rega RP40 with Ania Pro stylus. Rega Aria Mk3 RIAA. Mackie MS1202VLZPro mixer, pair of Genelec 8361A studio monitors - 3 way coaxial 2x 1000 watts pure 30Hz to 30kHz.
