Great release. Long overdue a reissue. Packaging-wise, a very faithful reproduction to the original, and apart from the 180g vinyl, and a couple of tiny different logos and text here and there, it's pretty much identical. Interestingly, the front cover seems a tiny bit more zoomed out than the original release, so you get about half a centimetre-ish more of the image visible at the edges. Same with the doodling in some of the corners of the inner sleeve. Slightly thicker card for the sleeve than the original, so spine-wise it's thicker, but that's not a bad thing. Arrived quite dirty, so it needed a clean, but after a clean it sounds great. If you don't have this on vinyl, then pick it up, you'll have no regrets.

    However......

After an A/B, track by track comparison (on headphones) with my original copy, I'm sad to say that this reissue doesn't sound as good the original, and the difference is quite noticeable. Even on my average system. The reissue doesn't sound bad to me in any way, and if that's all you have then you'll enjoy it. It's a fantastic album on any format. But side by side to the original, the reissue is slightly quieter and feels more restrained and "tamed", somehow. The original feels like it's pulled in closer to the speakers, punchier. The livelier tracks on the original sound a bit more boisterous, and the quieter tracks sound more intimate. But on this reissue the sound is more "pushed back" slightly, from the speakers. The reissue sounds like you're looking in through a window, rather than being in the room with the music.

So it's not that the reissue sounds bad in any way (to my ears anyway), it's just that it's not as good as the original. So, if you just want a decent copy to throw on and dance around in your underpants to, and you don't want to break the bank, get it. But, if you have a nice system and your thing is the best sound possible, then it might be worth tracking down an original and spending the extra money.

Disappointing quality on A side and track A4 in particular (as mentioned elsewhere).
Although it is perfection compared to https://www.discogs.com/release/1282910-Del-Amitri-Move-Away-Jimmy-Blue
      B side is far superior.

Sadly, the copy I received was dirty and had some odd scratches between A1 and A2. Also, it was overall noisy out of the sleeve, particularly A4. Hopefully a cleaning will help. But a warning to check your copy. Sounds fine otherwise. Nice to have this on LP for a price in the double digits!

Delighted to finally obtain this on vinyl.
Whoever is doing these reissues...Hats off to you🎩.
          Lovely gatefold,poster and lyric inner.
The pressing is flawless. No ticks, pops or surface noise.
Sound quality is superb. Clarity, separation, imaging, bass depth, dynamics (especially on percussion) are all top notch.
Needs volume to release the goods, but thats what a volume control is for!😉

This is an incredible album and a very welcome reissue. I’ve listened to this many times over in the last 48 hours and I think this sounds amazingly crisp and clear. It has to be turned up a bit to fully appreciate but it’s worth it. Track 2 - start with me, has always been high hat heavy no matter what format you hear it on so don’t let it fool you into thinking something is off as everything else is crystal clear.

Only slightly annoying bit is the packaging with its book like cover that has to be fully opened to slide the record out, so you have to remove all the wrap. I’d say don’t hesitate to pick it up!
