I was lucky to buy a copy of this in person for less than $60 (at my local Barnes & Noble). I’ve come to expect some pops and crackles from basically every new record I buy, but this one definitely has less than average. I was disappointed to find a noticeable scratch on the second disc, but it doesn’t seem to affect play all that much.

Anyone getting A LOT of distortion on the great gig in the sky?

I got this record a few days ago and only last night I got to open and play it for some friends. I had owned various versions of this album but by far this one is the best sounding pressing. We were blown away. I traded a bunch of records I no longer wanted and with the $55 store credit I received I bought my copy for $52 plus tax. One of top 5 best trades ever.

Sounds fantastic to me, I just don't get the complaints. It is a beautiful reissue of the classic album. Pick it up at a reasonable price while you still can

I’ve sent back, and I’m not being hyperbolic, five records. Dented, scratched gatefolds and scratched records. Got a replacement today. The outer sleeve was fine, however the gatefold was scratched again. I mean who the actual f**k is in charge of QC at RTI? Drunk monkeys?
Anybody of you had the same issues? Or am I extremely unlucky?

Best reissue of recent times! The vinyl quality is impeccable, the soundscape is so immersive and truly worthy of such a classic.

And don't even get me started on the artwork! It turned out so unique, almost electrifyingly cool ⚡💫🌟. I really like how they took the original, iconic art theme of Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon and still stayed true to the original layout while still creating something completely fresh. Really a great job they did here 👍.

That's how you celebrate a "50th Anniversary"! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION for this magnificent re-edition 😊👍👍.

Audiophiles with hearing problems/ "duff" copy syndrome!

                  I have the UK 73 press (Harvest – 1E 064 o 05249), European 2003 SACD (582 1362), European CD 2011 (50999 028955 2 9) 2016 UK Press (5099902987613) and 2023 50th press (5054197141478) - You can never have enough "Dark side"!

We don't need to discuss the music it's "The Dark side of the moon" - enough said!

Beautifully packaged, quality reproduction of original Album cover with a new slipcase and quality poster unique to this edition. 2 x quality poly line black inner bags. The LPs look really nice - LP labels on playable side and unique labels for this edition on the UV side - quality!

I have a mid priced Marantz/ audio technica system and this 2 x Vinyl, LP, Single Sided, 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition (PFR50UVLP) not only looks beautiful (a piece of art, in fact), sounds at least on par with my 2023 Black 50th Anniversary edition. This edition was created for playing and not sticking in a picture frame so emphasis has been made toward the sonic performance of the discs.

Seeing lots of reviews talking about sound quality! My copy is (as mentioned) at least on par with my 2023 50th edition (which is this edition press), actually is quieter (where it should be!) - sounds stunning and phenomenal! (My Brother's copy also sounds stunning on his system (mid priced!), so does two of my friend's copies on their (mid priced) systems!).

I truly believe if your copy looks nothing but beautiful and sounds ANYTHING BUT stunning - you have a "duff" - send it back and get a perfect copy! because this edition should be (and is) visually and more important than anything, sonically flawless.

should have made a 45rpm version, then if they don't balls it up, we could here the true dynamics of this music

Bought this solely for the unique coolness of it. Is it worth the original $50 I paid, I honestly don’t know, but probably not. Sound quality wise it’s very good, but not as good as the 2016 or 2023 rereleases that are out there for much cheaper. If you’re looking for your first copy of this album, I’d start there. After a vacuum wet cleaning plays with too many pops/ticks so will undergo another cleaning.
This certainly is not as open, dynamic, and clear as a good quality analog copy, but the 2016 or 2023 digital remastered copies are still the best bang for the buck out there.
