- Edited 4 years agoA Little Night Music consists of light, pleasant cafe-swing-jazz that's nice background music. It also has some good Dorothy Ashby-like jazz-harp by David Snell who also composed the pretty album 'Harp' for Bruton in '78. Could maybe be a little better but it does what it does well enough. I give it 2.5/5.
Hot Club really bored me though. I was interested by what the mention of 'jazz violin' on the back sleeve but it's a less pretty, more twangy/goofy kind of violin at play here. The songs sounded too similar and thus I lost attention. I give it a 2/5.
