Edited one month agoYes: you need to clean it before playing and it does have some crackles and pops. Even skips on some of them.
Yes: very low recording and must be played at quite a high volume.
Apart from these issues the bass and drums are punchy when played loud.
Sounds better after a few spins.
As for the music: excellent album with one of the best tracks of the year on it - “BIRDS OF A FEATHER”.
honestly after a few plays some pops begin to settle in. i kept this record in pristine condition btw. maybe im doing something wrong
I LOVE LESBIANS!!!!!!!:DDD- Edited 13 days agoIt’s a very bad pressing, very noisy and annoying.
Makes very loud crackles and pops even after cleaning, it was so bad I thought it was the needle. Even after I deep cleaned the record!
Went to Discogs and turns out the ecomix is the reason as to why it crackles. In theory a good idea, but not so much in practice.
Since this album is a very quiet calm album,
using ecomix on the pressings was a bad idea.
During the quiet songs (Such as: Skinny, The Greatest, Bittersuite, Etc.) you can hear so many crackles.
Which ruins the listening experience for many fans, people and audiophiles.
I believe they should release a 180G black version, so people that actually wanna enjoy the music can enjoy it in peace.
Just like the Visions - Grimes pressings,
It’s quiet and you can hear the quiet and calm songs.
Conclusion - Very bad pressing because of ecomix which ruins the audio because of so many crackles and pops even after cleaning.

The Sound and the Mastering is great. The Packaging is beautiful and the Protective Cover makes me smile. My Yellowswirl Vinyl is really an Eyecatcher. But i have a lot of Pops and Clicks on my Record. I think, this will be no Problem after Cleaning.- Have had bad experiences with target/walmart pressings in the past. This one is solid. It gets pretty dynamic and punchy.
I genuinely don't have a record this quiet in my entire collection. And i mean this in the worst way. I love this album so much too... the mastering is extremely unfortunate.- I kinda chose the yellow one cause then I would get an extra poster but i turned out to really love the color! It’s really pretty and the album is so good
Edited 3 months agoMy copy plays fine, no complaints. There were a few very minor pops, but I didn't clean it. Mastering sounds pretty good to me. For a target record, I'm perfectly happy with it.
Also, my copy is decidedly orange, not yellow. It says yellow eco vinyl on the hype sticker, but it couldn't be more orange. It looks fine that way, but it's an interesting discrepancy.- Edited 3 months agoPoor quality. No spacing between tracks (each song fades to the next). Some crackling. Very quiet album
I love this album but I literally can’t hear shit it’s on full volume on my incredibly loud speakers and it’s not even that loud
