Reviews
- So I am a little conflicted with this pressing. It's beautiful and matches the aesthetic of the album perfectly, but has quite a lot of surface noise and crackles for a brand new record. I do not variant collect for Billie, so I bought this with the intention of it being my only copy of this album. I don't notice it being too quiet yet as some other reviewers have mentioned, but even after a good cleaning and using an anti-static brush, I find this copy to be fairly noisy. I am hoping it improves over time and with a few more cleanings
- Edited 3 months agonot sure if they pressed more copies. But I missed out the first time. And I just got my copy 8/7/2024 and I've played it twice already. No sounds no skips. I will say yes you do have to turn the volume up. But other than that I love this copy.
- I have barely touched this since getting as side a is so FLAT sounding, but I saw people on here saying side b sounds better, spinning it now and yes the difference is noticeable but I still had to turn the volume up loud on my speakers, some popping on the outer edges but the further into the disc it gets the nicer it’s sounding!
- My copy sounds quite good. Luckily I have no pops! The vinyl is very quiet and the last two songs on side A don't sound the best - there's just a bit too much content. Wish this was a 2LP release. The gatefold is nice.
- Edited 5 months agoThis Evovinyl idea while in theory is a good idea, in practice it is NOT.
This has all been confirmed by those in the know:
Mastering is done at lower volumes, more compression and narrow stereo image.
Therefore..
Add those negatives to a terrible noise floor and you now have lps that will be tossed in the trash heep due to poor sound and quality. Counterproductive and also cheating the customer from a good sounding record. Might as well stream hi-rez or buy the cd. Good idea but bad results.
If you care about records and good sound, spread the word about this being a horrible practice. - Was so scared after seeing the reviews it would come and be bad quality, so I got the regular standard black too for the music quality while keeping my order for this one because I love the color.
Big surprise??! The quality on the coke bottle is 10 times better than the standard dark. It is awful to listen to the standard black, so much pop and surface noise, while this version is indeed quiet, but has way less surface noise.
The only complain would be that there’s white opaque spots on the vinyl, it’s giving eh quality - Muffled sound, little to no dynamic range… definitely avoid this pressing if you plan on listening to this album regularly.
- Love the album and billie, but this pressing is not it. As others say it is pretty quiet, and there’s a bit of a constant hiss and plenty of pops. My records outer sleeve also came very dirty, and with no hype sticker. All my other billie records are amazing, but this one has let me down. Pretty colour though!
- Got a seam split during shipping, and as others have mentioned it’s a notably quiet pressing. Sounds good though, not great. No major complaints, just lacking a bit overall
