Lately I've become obsessed with this group, Objetivo Birmania, and I should thank this single for that. OB was a group that is most remembered as a Spanish Bananarama clone, mostly because their greatest hit, "Los amigos de mis amigas", was pure Scott Aitken & Waterman made in Spain, but also because their producer and manager tried to tie their sound to pop... when they were clearly influenced by Kid Creole & The Coconuts. As it happened with the first two albums of Martha & The Muffins, the producer destroyed any experimental sound, nearly all the funky stuff, in their first two albums.

But not here. "Coco Funk", with their first main vocalist, Mari Paz, is a crazy pop-funk-disco song which is part Kid Creole, part Prince, part... part everything and pure catchyness. "Telegrama" is also fun, mostly rapped, with a great funky bass and guitar and dynamics. Though it's "coco funk" the one that I really love.

I'm still looking for any document of this group live in their first stages. They must have been incredible.
