Arrived here after listening to Benji B's tribute to Jackmaster radio show. 'Let Me Be Me' stopped me completely for the 7/8 minutes it played out.... RIP Jack, a man with an incredible ear for underground electronic music.

I keep coming back to this one time and time again throughout my journey over the years and it only grows, what a masterclass.. well and truly redefines timeless imho

You Said You Want Me + Lifestyles Of The Casual my 2 fav's but honestly a mission in itself to pick just one. Shout out to Warp for making it still somewhat financially accessible. Had to frame this one soon as I stopped relocating and finally got a place I could call home. Lifestyles Of The Laptop Café was the real reward though.

Dull, dour, repetitive, not very well produced. One of few records I actually get annoyed listening back to. Except the sleeve artwork, not much to get excited about.

I remember buying this when it came out and found it incredibly.....well, dull. It is well produced, very nice sounds, nothing to complain about there, except it just plods and plods and plods. It is safe and unadventurous to the point of boredom.

It is betwixt and between, in that you couldn't really play it at a party, but it is not really deep or interesting enough to serve as good home listening either.

Let me be is the exception. Finally a track gets a rocket up its jacksie and a bit of a move on. The rest is bland and forgettable.
