Notes
This is the original banned version that was eventually pulled from the market and later reissued minus the Skit "Out in the Parking Lot" and the title track "Cop Killer"; which was replaced with a Rock rendition of "Freedom of Speech" from Ice-T's solo Rap album - Freedom of Speech... Just Watch What You Say in 1989. Also, the cover art 'tattoo' was changed from "Cop Killer" to "Body Count" due to negative responses.
Note: "Body Count" song first appeared on Ice-T's solo Rap album - O.G. Original Gangster in 1991. This was a promotional move on behalf of the band to test their fan base.
Tracked between September & December 1991 at One-on-One Recorders, North Hollywood and Syndicate Studio West. Overdubs done at Kingsound Studio, Rick Marvin Studio and Syndicate Studio West. Mixed at Soundcastle, Los Angeles. Mastered at Future Disc.
Published by Rhyme Syndicate Music/Ernkneesea Music ASCAP, except tracks 9 & 11 published by Ernie C./Ernkneesea Music.
©℗ 1992 Sire Records Company for the US and WEA International Inc. for the world outside of the US.
Made in the USA, manufactured by WEA Manufacturing.
Marketed by Warner Bros. Records Inc., a Time Warner Company.
Total running time: 53:09

Reviews
- This album has made me laugh out loud since release, and cheers me right up. <thumbs up>
Feel sorry for all the people missing the title track.. geez, what a rip. - This album is crazy good. A true classic of the 90s. Stands up to this day & is still completely relevant.
- Early pressings include the closing song "Cop Killer", which was later removed after protests from conservatives throughout the US. The song was thought to fuel the civil unrests that broke out in LA after the beating up of Rodney King in 1992. Later pressings have the song substituted by the rather weak ICE-T track "Freedom of Speech", and the words "Cop Killer" on the breast of the cover hero have been substituted by "Body Count". Body Count got their deserved attention through the process, and their first album remains an angry, accusing and humorous classic.
- Edited 8 years agoAs a debut album this speaks with balls, a reality of ugly happenings, a unjust in fairness and real sense of telling it the way it is with a F##K Y#U to chart commercial success. Forget the so-called heavy metal manufactured crap like 'Limp Biscuit' and hear the real musicians who write from there hearts & guts writing songs without compromising for record sales. A awesome powerful rap-thrash/hard-rock/punk-metal album that is full of a very real reality of the unjust rotten world people live in that's told with real raw emotion that can be very in-yer-face! This is a no-nonsense hard-hitting album and at times with highly controversial in parts - just check 'Cop Killer'! This still remains an incredibly listen with its captivating story-like and personalised lyrics and music written by Ice T & crew who's souls feel the need to express the unfair, corrupt, wrongs, multiplication and dangers of downtrodden Black american life, even the slower (couple) tracks are a incredible powerful listen with there ability to hit the soul with its hard, moving, and very honest lyrics - this is not your commercial MTV rock balled music for TV. Music that truly spits in the face of political-correctness, and for those who get offended easily - STAY AWAY!.
Also check the excellent and original thrash/metal-skate rock band Suicidal Tendencies "How will laugh tomorrow...", "Lights camara revolution", "Still Cyco after all these years", "Suicidal for Life" albums. Great band that have the balls say it!
