Inspiral Carpets as a rock band had not much in common with indie-rave innovators such as the Happy Mondays and The Shamen. But they released some of the best remixes of the scene, as on this 12": the Forgemasters remix of Commercial Rain is inspired techno which seamlessly includes the refrain vocal, whereas Dubville has more of a song structure, even though the vocals are sometimes low in the mix, and manages to build up a dramatic atmosphere with its Spartan arrangement.
