This album is some kind of masterpiece. It took me many listens to realise this.
In ”The Acid Archives”, Aaron Milenski writes that Virgil Caine sounds ”kind of like an 18th generation descendent” of The Band, ”like the toothless spawn of several generations of inbreeding”.
If that isn’t high praise, I don’t know what is.
P.S. The Time-Lag reissue sounds great.
