Comment from Dean Anderson circa 2013 on this release:

"It's with only a slightly jaded view that I review this record. At the very apex of the house music movement in Chicago circa 1986, there was a not-so-good-natured rivalry between the two main Independent record labels putting out the house sound on vinyl. On the one hand, Rocky Jones, ex-DJ and entrepreneur had released several house smashes already, as had the competition, Larry Sherman, scion of the family trucking business, who converted one of their warehouses into a vinyl pressing plant! Just about any day of the week you could walk into the plant (if you dared travel to 38th place - a not-so-nice industrial area) and find Larry holding court on the main floor, dumpsters full of K-Tel records chopped up and re-ground for vinyl - strewn about...

One day I walked in with my cassette of a very rough demo featuring Rocky the squirrel chanting "hey Rocky" "hey Rocky - watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!" over a 4x4 kick and bass line. Larry saw his chance to take a low blow to main competitor Rocky Jones on the other side of town...and invited me to his home that very night. When I got there, Larry gave me a laser disk player, along with every laser disk ever manufactured of 'The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show'. I put it all in a bag, and RAN home to start reviewing the disks, expanding the beats in my Linn drum, and developing an arrangement.

The rest, as they say, is history. Oh, I didn't mention - I'm the kid (now all grown up and running a music production company - who created "Hey Rocky"! TOLD you I was "a little jaded!" Enjoy!"
