Big respect and RIP to the singing FATS. You are missed.
Also, respect to Calibre on this one. Classic.

First time I heard this on Fabio's show I was gobsmacked by how much this had 'classic' written all over it. Such a unique and wonderful slice of dance music. ❤️

Calibre said in an interview published around the time when Drop it down got released that he did not even meet Fats or invited him for a studio session... Calibre was just visiting A Sides in his studio and they went through some unused accapellas Fats had recorded months or even years earlier at A Sides' and Calibre borrowed that dat tape and began building a track around certain of these vocal fragments and the result was Drop it down...

Good stuff. Fats shows yet again that his voice talent stretches far beyond spitting out syllables very fast, while Calibre's simple yet irresistibly groovy production gives Fats' voice all the room it needs to bring the track on point.
