As previous posters have stated this is a seriously essential No U-Turn release with both tracks hinting at the progression the label would turn to over the next year. 'Guncheck' is a moody-as-hell piece of gangsta-hardstep, with signs of the oncoming tech-step style emerging. Opening with an almost pleasant sounding G-Funk, hip-hop intro and 'Gettin' kinda dirty in the underground' rap samples and steppin' breaks, it then gets nasty with the introduction of police sirens, gunshots and a menacing vocal lifted from Freddie Foxxx & Kool G Rap ('Crazy Like A Foxxx'). The dark hip-hop vibe is ramped up further by sampling the guitars from Gang Star's equally spooky sounding 'Speak Ya Clout' showing that Ed Rush was an expert in seeking out the darker sides of music to incorporate into his tracks back then.

'The Force Is Electric (Remix)' sound closer to the 1994 style of jungle with it's use of ragga vocals ('As we enter', 'The force is electric' and 'Assassinate and terminate and turn over every sound!!!') and focus on thundering amen break. It does however remain steeped in the darkside with excellent use of 'electric' sounds and a hair-raising, descending 'stick scraped along an iron fence' sound followed by an ascending, pitched amen. Two brilliant tracks on this release which heavily point in the direction Ed Rush, Nico and the rest of the No U-Turn crew where away to lead.
