- Edited 3 years agoMy bad! roky and I are both wrong. I got the liner notes to the '96 CD reissue. There are two Mother Earth members that help on this record, along with the greats I already mentioned (plus Pete Drake, who produced the record). After helping out Mother Earth on their Make a Joyful Noise record, Pete Drake asked Tracy to do a solo country album for him. She acquiesced and Tracy Nelson Country was born. The three "outtakes" I mentioned aren't that at all. They're Mother Earth tunes from the "Country Side" of Make a Joyful Noise, the Mother Earth record. John Morthland, who wrote the liner notes for the '96 re-issue opines that this album---the original record, I assume---is in the same ballpark as Dylan's Nashville Skyline and The Flying Burrito Brothers' debut the Palace of Gilded Sin, in terms of it being unprecedented.
