Side A has some wicked surface noise on it. Thinking it was an isolated copy problem, I bought a second one only to realize it's a pressing issue. Bummer, because aside from that, it's a solid record.
Pretty damn noisy. Luckily so is the music itself. Everything else about the package and release is great- Good and punchy mastering... but saddly pressed on noisy golden vinyl (even ultrasonic cleaning). Otherwise the foil gatefold cover is really beautiful
This sounds amazing. Very punchy and in your face. Love this album so much. I had zero issues with noise that shouldn't be there or any pressing flaws.
There is also a signed variant of this pressing sold by The Sound of Vinyl (not the box set).
Great release! This album is one of my favorite rock albums of the last 20- years. Royal Blood's debut is a modern- day classic. I picked up a signed version of this anniversary edition. The first disc is the entire original album. It is not remastered or remixed, but it is already a sonically rich album.
The second disc is where the goodies are. I always thought RB was an incredible live act, so to have a few live tracks on vinyl is a real treat. There are some cuts (such as during Out of the Black), unfortunately, but what you do get sounds fantastic. I have always really enjoyed the 2015 Reeding set, but all 5 live tracks are great. Having the B- sides on vinyl is also a must for fans. These songs are stellar, and getting a completely "new", unheard song from this era is a great surprise. The only critique I have would be to maybe replace the alt. Ten Tonne Skeleton mix with Lover. Lover is a noticeable omission, and although the alt. Ten Tonne Skeleton is a good listen, having the complete B- side set on this would have been better imo.
All- in- all, a great package to celebrate this awesome album
Sounds beautiful, artwork is brilliant. Live tracks are very clear, they are a wonderful live band.
