- Edited 4 months agoBought it used for $5 in g+ condition and it sounds better than my 2014 repress! Glad I snagged this at the record shop. Can’t believe I got such a good deal. It even still has the cool ass inner sleeve!
- Edited 5 months agoI saved my Dad's pressing of this from their basement recently - MOLD! Jacket was trashed, inner salvageable, and the vinyl both hand micro fiber cloth hand clean + multiple fresh ultrasonic baths later...absolutely explosive!
While it plays VG/VG+'ish (surface scratches), I was impressed with its dynamics and detail considering how hot it was cut. Would like to upgrade but afraid of the LZ rabbit hole! My understanding is the RLs are cut hotter and these Peckos are a tad quieter and more detailed (new here)?
Pro-Ject X1B/Sumiko Wellfleet + Schiit Mani 2 + Musical Fidelity M5si + Dali Oberon 7's - I got one like this, but it has got (ST-A-712285 CAP) on label side one and (ST-A-712286 CAP) on label side two. Can't find it on Discogs.
- Found variant 5 at a pawn shop for a few bucks. Light surface scratches and probably played a million times, but still sounds phenomenal!
- Agreed. This vinyl has an amazing sound stage and the instruments are nicely separated. A great listen.
- Wouldn’t the “GP” in the deadwax more likely be George Peckham, aka “Porky”? Not sure why Piros would also have mastered this if Peckham has his telltale “Porky” and “Pecko” in the deadwax
- Still the best pressing I’ve ever heard. I have many different pressings, reissues, CDs, etc., but this puts all others to shame. I don’t why this is so magical, but pick this up if you are looking for a great pressing. I’ve had mine for many years and was lucky to find it near mint back when I was in high school when records were more affordable!
- Great album. They just don't make them like this anymore, great pressing and songs are strong from first to last.
