There are those who will tell you that Detroit based experimental space rockers Füxa focus on a lo-fi electronics-heavy blend of droning treated guitars, vintage synths, and sparse percussion in the vein of Suicide, Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized, though in truth that’s not so. If you purchase the group’s personal material based on this you’ll be very disappointed indeed. What Füxa do best, is to re-interrupt and reinvent existing material, laying in wondrous musical visions that can bring a well know song to new levels. Frontman Randal Nieman has been a part of Sonic Boom’s Spectrum as well as sitting in with Telescopes. Here, the boys bring new vision with a remix of Dean & Britta’s “Crystal Blue,” and breath new life into a cover of “Our Lips Are Sealed,” featuring Sarah Peacock of Seefeel on vocals. Hey ... it’s a great edition through meticulous new eyes, where a couple of songs for the musical completist see new light, floating most unexpectedly.
