Notes

From label:
"Filtered within beyond the eyesight of man, the thin circular rings surround us.
It is where individual systems interacts sometimes creating persuasive, more dominate systems resulting in the make-up of our active schematic pallets.
At this level, it becauses a microscopic observation with multiple conclusions that becomes random in the interior thought patterns."

"Until the merging of realities become one, Axis presents The Other Day"

Originally designed for the recording of the Mix-Up Volume 2 CD, in 1996 this release was modified into its final release format. Some of the tracks were already created in 1993 and "waited for a project along the similar form".

NSC in runouts is circled.

I'm honestly confused as to why this ep is going for so cheap. this is one of his best works in my opinion and should have more value than the kat moda ep

El Jefe Mills, in top form. 4 Art is a masterpiece, this sounds like a minimal track, but there's more layers to it than most current techno. This just portrays Mill's intelligence.

A pretty classic collection of tracks, which may I observe, sounds far better on the dance floor than his tribal and loop orientated Purpose Maker stuff. While simple in structure, and leaning towards the experimental spectrum of Jeff's output, Nepta and i9 (this one blew my socks off when I first heard it on Jeff's live mix recording at the Liquid Room) are minimal tracks for the ages, with instantly recognizible sounds and catchy sequences, while Stripping Effect and Time Out Of Mind are two brief compositions, with orchestral instruments used to create scary soundscapes. Too bad they are so short.
It is not in vein that all tracks from this EP were at one point released on a Jeff Mills album, or a collection of his finest tracks. Throughout the late nineties this was an obligatory item in every DJ case, and these tracks, while never really reaching the status tunes like Alarms or The Bells acquired, aren't far behind in quality, let alone importance.

Best Mills record at all. Track A1 is jazz at it´s best and B2 was an extraordinary crescendence for the time being, but a bit outdated nowadays. A1 and A2 are 100% timeless classics. As said, never heard that Mills that good, closest runner-up is "Every Dog Has It´s Day 3". Fuck Kat Moda and all that lurvy goa-sounding stuff on purpose maker. The other day EP rules.

I'm fortunate to own Promo 2 - bought in Submerge, Detroit in one of those 'right place at the right time moments'. Side one has just the main track on it. Side two has three tracks. Tracks one and two both appear on the final release. Track three is the massive unreleased track, a bit like the hard loop tracks on Axis 9a/b. Has AXIS 015 hand written in blue Biro and some very faded 'Promo Only Not For Re-sale' print around the edge of the label - this faded text can be seen on a lot of UR and Detroit label promos - probably never bothered to fix the printing machine - lazy Detroit :-)

3 different promotional copies were pressed. promo 1 already featured 'the bells' (officially released on 'kat moda' on purpose maker). promo 2 featured an untitled and still unreleased track. promo 3 is similar to the official release.
