Companies, etc.

Commercial version in digipak rather than jewel-case.

The first 5000 copies have the wrong tracklisting on CD2, "Bacon Fat" by Andre Williams being listed as track 8. This was corrected on this later pressing.

Tracklisting errors on CD1 (on all copies):
08 credited to Carl Craig
42 correctly credited to Love [both Love and Arthur Lee released versions of this track within a year of Love splitting up and Lee leaving]

This release is assumed to be partially unofficial because tracks 1-12, 1-25, 1-34 and 2-10 were unlicensed / pending licensing at time of release, as noted on artwork with the disclaimer "unable to contact proper licensing company for europe, please contact [XXXXX] with your claim".

Track 1-25, Stand On The Word, despite its title, is not mixed / remixed by Larry Levan. This erroneous version name originates from bootlegs of this track misattributing this version to Larry Levan.

amazing mix album, very eclectic track selection spanning many decades and genres. i only wish it were longer and gave the tracks more time to 'breathe' but if optimo wants to work that hard mixing new tracks every 90 seconds, more power to optimo

Another mix that has lasting power due to its diversity. I listen to it in eagerness, and it introduced a few original 'samples' I knew from the early 1990s in another form...Hardcore Uproar is The End? I give this almost 5 out of 5.

An incredible mix that left me gobsmacked from the outset. I've lost count how many times I've listened to this, but I still can't tire of it. The range and depth of music covered on this CD is astounding. Where the Soulwax/2 Many DJs duo aim for the recognisable (dare I say predictable?) Optimo take it to another level and then some.
There are too many tracks and mixing moments to mention in a single review, but a few that get me salivating are:
hearing the full version of Gang of Four's - Damaged Goods, an amazing post punk(?) tune that hinges on the twangy bassline and emotive lyrics.
Langley Schools Music Project - Good Vibrations, a cover that brings back memories of my primary education and trying to sing harmony in the school choir (can't believe I've admitted to being in a school choir!).
Medium Medium - Hungry So Angry, never heard this before, but desperately hunting down. Crazy otherworldy vocals and excellent 80's synth sci-fiesque effects.
Ricardo Villalobos into Art of Noise into Ricardo Villalobos - micro house pads and rhythms meet 80's melodies in a perfect unison.
And ending the mix with a club's 'one more tune' chant AND then providing the goods in the form of Love's - Everybody's Got To Live...highly original and bloody excellent.
