Super smooth and undistorted sound (other than the distortion inherent in the instrumentation, and the highlight is how you can hear the intention of the band's work between distortion and smoothness like never experienced digitally). Really good separation and layer definition, even in the heaviest, most layered parts. Billy's voice is especially present. Lacks a bit of the power I would expect, but maybe some of that is the lack of compression we were used to from the digital versions. Maybe the original pressing had more power? Overall, I am super glad to have a brilliantly produced copy of this album on vinyl.

Owners of the newest wave of represses - does anyone experience distortion on Side 3/disc 2, the side with Mayonnaise? This defect plagued the last wave of reissues, particularly from Target.

Sounds great to me ears. Loud, clean and bassy which the 90's were really all about. Fantastic vinyl remastering. Guitars and cymbals are bright and a bit metallic but that's just how the album was engineered and it is not very compressed sounding contrary to some of the more critical reviews on here. The separation of sounds is much more evident than the original CD. Love the lyric sheets and the orange and metallic purple thick cardboard outer jacket. I was lucky enough to snag one for about $50 but feel this should have never gone over $35 hence the taking off of a star. Now I need to get my hands on Melon Collie for a reasonable price.

Curious how many recent comments here have confirmed the runouts match the 2011 pressing on this page? This press will have "Dallas" in the runouts of Sides A & C.
Seems like some of those who purchased this new in 2022 may actually have another "2020" version seen here: https://www.discogs.com/release/16779627-Smashing-Pumpkins-Siamese-Dream

Can anyone confirm their runouts on sealed albums purchased in 2022 matching this release, the other release mentioned above or clarify if they have a completely different "new" pressing? I would like to know if there should be a new "2022" record of new pressings or if those that recently came to market are new old stock found lost in a warehouse?

This remaster sounds like compressed trash to me. The cover is gorgeous. Buy this if you care more about packaging than source mix ig.

Just received mine yesterday. First play this morning sounded pretty good. Vinyl appears clean with no debris. I received two sleeves with lyrics for record 2, though.

My first copy had a defect due to a random piece of leftover vinyl material floating around the label causing a weird dishing. My replacement has some edge warp and a ton of surface noise. Underwhelmed for $50USD.

Make sure your version isn’t the 2020 repress when cataloguing. That’s right - 2020 - it was due to be done pre-pandemic before everything closed. Masterdisk in your etching is 2020 run.
