I'm just wondering if all the posts panning the sound on the CRC pressing did an actual blind sound comparison test with the same/equal playback and listening room variables?

I have not compared the sound quality of the CRC pressing to the original. I have however read that this pressing is more rare than the original. I believe they only pressed 3000 or so, which could be the reason for its high dollar value?

I've been hunting an original US Geffen release and finally a Discogs seller had a NM/NM for a reasonable price so I snapped it up. Turns out he made a "mistake" and actually sold me the CRC pressing. The seller was cool and refunded me when I returned the record, but had a good listen before I sent it back. OMG what a HORRIBLE sounding pressing. It sounded completely flat with none of the range of the Geffen original. I've seen NM/NM copies go for about $150 and it's definitely not worth that kind of money if you intend to listen to it. Complete garbage. I can also verify that this pressing does not come with an inner sleeve or lyric sheet. It just has the record in a plain white sleeve.

For some reason this CRC press doesn't sound as good as the regular press, is it me or others hear the same?
Also, i can confirm that this club edition was released in a plain white inner sleeve.

I have one of these as well and can confirm that mine does not have a printed inner sleeve. Mine has a plain white inner sleeve with no hole in the middle. I've seen a number of copies of this CRC pressing over the years and have never seen one with the printed inner sleeve. At this point, barring someone buying a sealed one and finding a printed inner sleeve inside, I'm inclined to believe this release came with a plain white holeless sleeve. This was not at all unheard of with Columbia House pressings in the 80s and 90s.

NOTE - This CRC edition was pressed at a lower volume compared to the original U.S. Geffen release. Also noted is that the inner sleeve is a simple plain white holess sleeve, not a full print inner sleeve like the Geffen original.
