Got this when it came out in 1994... a good tune but how this now goes for 100 £ + really does baffle me! Not exactly worth it.

back in the day Dillinja was dropped in the head and therefore made the ruffest jungle riddims...

One of Dillinja's best ever tunes, Sovereign Melody is a stone cold classic. Absolutely timeless deep, rolling jungle/dnb tune that still holds up today. The flip side is also solid but Sovereign Melody is the tune that everyone plays. Perfect as a closing tune in a set, just bang it in there unmixed. Track speaks for itself.

Submitted the repress from 2002 finally (was tired of it not existing here!):

I was the dnb buyer at Satellite Records NYC at the time and I know for a fact we got these in as well as the Trinity on Philly Blunt (yes it was also repressed). As to if they were ever official or unofficial I can't say for sure, nor how many were made- we got only a few in and they never made it to the website. I'm guessing unofficial. I figure people need to be aware of this going forward. Like Mr Geese said no JTS in the repress runout etching and it's definitely pitched to +8. Helps with mixing into newer records I guess.

anyone elses copy of this pressed at +8 ? ( meaning you have to play at -8 to get the real pitch )

Sovereign Melody went on to be remixed and re-named as Deep Love, which was released on another one of Dillinja's mini labels 'Logic'.

Sovereign Melody is highlight here (just), nice rhodes sample from the off and the track just builds up layer upon layer of bass and breakbeats and when it finally drops the roof comes off.

Deadly Ceremonies is a wicked amen number which breaks down into a 4/4 kick with a deep (albeit out of tune) piano Melody before the amens hit again and the best bit of tune arrives in the form of an unintelligible female vocal signaling the end of the piano but start of gun finger time.

                    Big release

Definently one of Dillinja's most underrated record. Quite a contrast to what he is typically known for today. "Soverign Melody" is a clean, mellow track, with Dillinja's patented bass hitting very hard and deep. "Deadly Ceremonies" switches things up with a faster pace and more aggressive amen to layer the track. Overall, a solid release.
