- Edited 2 days agoA MILESTONE LP. ESSENTIAL in all dub lovers collections.
A real beauty of funky off-beat drumming , powerful bass and dynamic mixing by King Tubby infused with beautifull &v uplifting, yet dread riddims. A super-roots lp without doubt.
These tracks don't sound like Lee Perry mixes in anyway (because they weren't) , though they were certainly recorded at the Black Ark.
This is the best of the 3 lps by Winston Edwards at the time, but Natty Roots & Surrounded by Dreads (which has some vocal/dj cuts ) are also Superb LPS as well, and recommended. - absolute KILLER dub..not only for reggae heads.......this is dark, groovy, rolling Dub of a kind.........
along in the light dub , scratch super Ape, Tubby meets rockers uptown and few others milestone of the decade - The bass on my copy is overpowering, is anyone else experiencing this? Wonder how it differs from the Jamaican version and the other UK version with the plain label!
