Notes
To mark the 8th anniversary of Mettāsonic, we are proud to present the debut album of Shanghai producer Warlock BBD (warlockbbd.bandcamp.com)
After his debut with us in 2023 and a few EPs on Omni Music, he is now back for his first full-length album, once again featuring his signature sound of crisp breaks over long-form atmospheric compositions. Although heavily informed by jungle/dnb, his music doesn't chase trends, instead showcasing a sound that is unmistakably personal. A dedicated student of sound, he has also elevated his mix-down to a new level.
As the history of this music often evokes, themes of futurism and space exploration abound - propelling one across distant worlds over spacious, soaring, and thought-provoking soundscapes.
Happy Spring Equinox!

Reviews
- I wasn't aware of this release, let alone of the artist. Only needed a quick scan of the first few tracks to convince me to hit the purchase button. Sounds akin to the releases on Spatial Recordings, as far as mood and storybuilding. Maybe not at the same production level, but highly enjoyable tracks nonetheless.
