What a horrible boxset 👎🏻 5 stars for the music but the boxset packaging is shocking! If you were to slide this off the shelf the lp’s would drop out of the bottom as the slip case goes over the top instead of the side like other boxsets and also seam splits to the inner sleeves and creasing to the top of the outer case due to lp’s moving around during transport i’m glad i have the original lift of lid boxset which is much better this is just a really bad packaged set
For all it is and all it might have been, Time Flies is a persuasive forceful listen, comprised of introspective moments balance by numbers that shook stadium rafters, a collection of singles worthy of any jukebox. One should note that Time Flies is not your usual or conventional greatest hits package, it’s the history of Oasis brought to life through the collection of their singles. Of course this outing is not a door-opener for most, yet it will remind you of how wonderful it was to be so young, with Oasis shattering glass, a soundtrack to many of our lives, delivered here on four luscious different colored vinyl records that’s sure to satisfy what you’ve most been longing for.
Of course I’d be remiss if I did’t say that Oasis created a 4 LP set that should have been 5, with the effect theoretically being that the compression cuts the bass and creates distortion within the inner songs due to the shallow grooves. But you know, it is what it is, especially since the music was taken from digital sources. That said, the sound quality is dynamically very good, I sincerely doubt you will be disappointed.
*** The Fun Facts: No, there is no “Champagne Supernova” … how could that be?
So happy to finally be able to listen to Whatever on vinyl, sounds amazing and looks great, dead silent pressing in between tracks. There is also a hidden song not listed on the vinyls on the last record, after Falling Down the song Sunday Morning Call plays, pretty neat
Love the packaging - much better than the original box imo with the annoying lid box and the blue tinted artwork. Here you can slide the records out of a slipcase how it's supposed to be with a box set and you get the beautiful original artwork, 4 instead of 5 LPs (which means less time spent changing and flipping records) and really nice colors of the records themselves. The only thing I wish they did was include the booklet. Otherwise, great packaging, really glad I picked it up!
do yourself a favour and pay a bit extra to get the Japanese version of this all on blue vinyl. comes in a MUCH nicer sturdy box and made to a very high quality standard by Sony Japan.
Unable to compare it to the original pressings (I'm not paying £350 for a 5 record set) but to my old ears this RSD pressing sounds amazing for the price paid. Keeping it. I never look at booklets in any of my current collection so not bothered. Would have been nice to have lined sleeves but again not all releases come with them. I give this whole release an 8/10.
I'm an Oasis fan and have a lot of CDs (including maxis and bootlegs) and DVDs, and I've seen a few Oasis and Noel concerts. I bought this box set for €100 at the RSD 2025. The vinyl is flat and plays quietly. That's what I expected. But it doesn't sound audiophile (no Oasis vinyl record sounds audiophile). Overall, I'm disappointed: - Taylor Swift can release pastel-colored vinyl, but not Oasis. - The records are encased in paper without anti-static sleeves. - The number of discs has been reduced from 5 to 4. - There's no booklet! That's low-brow and poor. - I have limited #01360, but I don't care.
Originally, there were five discs, just like the later Japanese edition. I think that because there are the same number of songs on fewer discs, the sound must be inferior. Does anyone know how it sounds compared to the previous ones?
