The Soundshaft...I think I went there in 1990. The night was called Troll, on Saturdays. I remember you had to walk out through Heaven to the exit. I went there with my girlfriend, who got a little paranoid about getting spat on by the all male cast of heaven as we left...I told her that it probably wouldn't be spit but to keep her mouth shut in the literal sense. 'Rage' on Thursdays with Fabio and Grooverider was way cooler...more estrogen and less protien! Anyway to the record: Logic, you've got Gardiner and Sanchez at the controls in perhaps the grandest period for as yet un-pigeon-holed house: It's deep and that's all you need to know. Besides, at that time with Strictly you didn't even need to listen first...same rules apply.

The Soundshaft mix is named after the London club that was behind Heaven in Charing Cross, where he (Roger sanchez) played on many occasions and spun tunes like these....sublime deep house !

Roger Sanchez stepping into the role of Logic and taking it over. This is one of those early grandiose and completely on it DEEEP house records that made buying the four Strictly Rhythm records that came out that week so completely worth it.
