- I discovered that this track is a mix of the same name that appears on his 1994 album, "Back To Love" as Mr. Fingers.

I found the thing with physical record shopping back then was, although you would not be supplied with a digital copy to accompany the release, you would be supplied with something far more precious in the form of an indelible memory of each and every record you purchased, this one being no exception.
As a teenager in 1996, I vividly remember asking DJ Concrete, who worked behind the counter at Nookie's record shop Daddy Arms House in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, for this. I had read about it in a magazine and wanted to know what it sounded like, as one has to remember, this was pre-internet with record shops and radio being the only way to listen to forthcoming music. Concrete seemed mystified and yet delighted that I had got wind of this tune; he quizzed me about it before prising a promo from beneath the counter, where the exclusive 12's were kept, and put it on the deck, before letting me buy it. He was a big Nookie fan himself and seemed pleased to see someone younger appreciating something that was not just another anthem/top 10. We would often speak at length about music in the shop, which formed something of a informal musical education, and consequently left quite an impression on my young mind, something I think the youth of today sadly miss out on. - Edited 4 years agoTimeless!! Two masters combining in a timeless piece of music ; Nookie production with Larry Heard vocals.
Still sounds fresh today
