"Every record sounds the same" sings Madonna in her single "Give Me All Your Luvin'" the lead single of her album "MDNA". Am I missing some kind of sarcasm here? Or is this just a bold statement on Madonna's part, saying that instead of starting trends like she used to she is now joining them. If anything featuring a guest verse from Nicki Minaj is just a way of saying 'hey, this is how we roll in 2012' as she is a guest on pretty much any pop and pop-rap album on the charts. Of course Nicki Minaj rapping is shit, no surprises there. If you suck at rapping you suck at rapping. Nicki's attempt at 'speed rap' seven bars in the middle of the song with lyrics having nothing to do with Madonna's is nothing but horrible and dumb. As for the other guest spot on the song by M.I.A., is a 'blink' you will miss it deal. She says a few lines and is just a pointless add to a over all pointless song. The remix by LMFAO is just as bad as the original song and is just further proof that Madonna is clearly desperate to reach out to what's popular on the radio at the moment. "Give Me All Your Luvin'" is nothing more than a weak attempt for Madonna to seem relevant again after a certain clone has taken her spot as pop-queen. I think Lady Gaga is rubbish, but the truth is the pupil has become the master.

A decent single, although not a patch on her previous efforts. With the cheerleader chants of "L-U-V Madonna!" its quite clear this was released with one thing in mind: Superbowl 2012 promo. It's one of the weaker tracks on MDNA which is a decent album despite some very harsh reviews. What's disappointing about Give Me All Your Luvin' is that its pretty much pop by numbers: anyone could have recorded this song. Coming from Madonna (my favourite female artist) that's disappointing. I was also really excited to hear that she was working with MIA, whom I really like (I dislike Nicki Minaj though) although both of their verses sound like afterthoughts. They really don't add much. Not a total disaster, but a far cry from the Confessions On A Dancefloor singles - her last great album for me. Don't write MDNA off on the basis of this single though as it does contain some material much stronger than this mediocre offering.
