This LP sounds like some hot ass. Especially disappointing considering my pressing of Whole Lotta Red is one of the best cuts in my collection. This is just an in house Precision cut from a shitty unfinished mix/master.
Not sure why people are tryna sell this record for $70+ when it’s still on his website for $40. Overall happy with the sound, and love the differences from the digital release.
Edited 14 days agoNot bad. Wish it was a gatefold with an extra design inside, but sound is what really matters anyways. Definitely very listenable, but far from audiophile quality. Sounds a bit compressed on my setup, but gets better when turned up loud. Slightly too tinny for my ears as well. Adjusting the loudness on my receiver helps. I don’t have the CD to compare, but I’d wager this pressing doesn’t sound any better. Likely a bit worse for the reasons I mentioned.
the bass on this record is so solid and it has the same mixing as the cd version of the album. (filthy tag on jumpin, no outro for pop out, no gunshot for eviljordan, extra chorus for overly and the original HBA) which is peak because H00DBYSNARE 🥀 was awful and i’m glad the sound quality holds up on my player. no surface noise to report really.
