3pbeats Records presents retrospective compilation of tracks previously unreleased on vinyl by Stanislav Sevostyanikhin (known as Dissident and Kontext) united by experimental Drum and Bass rhythms with significant influence of Jazz and Funk. The correspondence of the title of this EP to schizophrenia is not occasional. The “Jazzophrenic Anthology” literally embodies the atmosphere of insanity.
The first track on the A-side “The Lonely President Funk” makes us empathize with the sadness of a lonely person who was institutionalized to psychiatric hospital for believing himself to be the President of the United States. He suffers from the misunderstanding of surrounding people and inability to comprehend his situation.
The “Dead Language” picks up where the first track left off. It submerges the listener in the chill of desperation reproducing the state of bipolar disorder.
The B-side turns melancholy and dreadful delirium into some wacky madness. The “Phantom Orchestra” represents jam-session of some non-existing band which musicians appear from the void taking delight in the process of improvisation. “I’m looking nice! You’re looking nice! We are unbelievable!”. “Hey, dude, this way!” vocals encourage listener to leave the gloom of the previous side of the record.
The “Prankster” tells the story of constantly jumping and dancing joker who has played one trick too many on himself and went crazy.
One could give this EP a rather accurate name and call it the “Jazzophrenic Funkology” for instance, but the word Anthology is a much better choice, for the composition of the record displays all the variations of man’s insanity and relay its spirit.

В «Phantom Orchestra» мы слышим джэм-сэйшн несуществующего оркестра, музыканты которого, наслаждаясь собой, саморазворачиваются в пустоте: “I’m looking nice, you’re looking nice. We are unbelievable!”.
