This is pretty nice. I don’t know why she disses it, if the reviewers below are accurate. It’s like early Cat Power, Rainer Maria, Idaho, and late Lowercase, with Marissa Nadler-esque vocal flights of fancy and Neil Young-y knack for subtle hooks. While I was hoping “Winter” would be a cover of the Tori Amos classic, it’s still a memorable song with aggressively bleak guitar strumming. I would’ve been all over this album 20 years ago. Unfortunately, this site doesn’t allow half-stars in our ratings. This is a perfect example of a promising 3.5 star debut release in my book.
Think about how lame the whole-stars-only rating system is: You can only give 5 stars (100%; absolute perfection), followed by 4 stars (80%; B- / C+; barely adequate on any school exam), then 3 stars (60%; below D-), and anything lower than 3 stars denotes it’s virtually unlistenable. The main takeaway is that there is only one option in between 100% and 60%. Simply ludicrous. This is why I rate so few things on here.

I still remember printing and manufacturing these for the original release party and show. I'm surprised/not surprised to see that the label info doesn't exist -- we were kinda small.
      • This release isn't as "rare" as it seems. She gave away CDrs in the beginning of her career during touring throughout Europe. I found so much people who owe a copy - I can't believe this one is so "rare".

There are much more "rare" releases of her....

She won't release this album again. She told me this recently. I think finding the Soundtrack album will be more difficult than finding a copy of this record!

Sad to say but I can't see that this one will be reissued :( She named it "Garbage" after all.....

I saw one listed on here a couple months ago for $500. Did it actually sell?

This was never actually released and never will be. She's said she doesn't like the album ("embarrassingly bad") - in fact, I think I read somewhere she threw all the copies into the ocean or something.
