Electronic Rock? Darkwave? Yeah, from Twins (1986) and onward, but I remember this being called post-punk in 1983, like Killing Joke...whatever.

A mostly unknown and criminally neglected release. In the Nursery in their early days came (unmistakably) from the Sheffield scene with a sound from the Joy Division school of grimness coupled with early Clock DVA and a dollop of Crispy Ambulance. "When Cherished Dreams Come True" should have been on Factory Records and it would have sold like hot cakes.

A delight from start to finish and a post-punk classic.

There must be some confusion on the listing of this LP. I bought 'When Cherished Dreams Come True' at the same time as the 'Witness' 7" after In the Nursery featured on the "From Torture to Conscience" compilation LP. Either 1984 or 1985 at the latest. Yet my copy has the blue silk screened cover (with no number) and the same Paragon labels shown on the 2nd press listing. Not sure what's happening here but there must have been some blue silk screened covers before 1988! Is it possible the second press happened in 1984 or 1985 and not 1988?
