- Edited 2 years agolike e-man says below, i too fine the production on the import island version has more finesse than the heavy drums forward version larry pumped out. what's especially interesting is the finger snapping capella intro on the vocal that starts it off then the bassline rolls in verry effective. people forget this was a big underground dance hit b4 larry levan's remix which became its on big hits.
- One of these 12'' sounds like 'soft d-train' and the other sounds like Talking Heads LOUD DUB sound levels so much that they sound almost like two different songs.
tHIS WHAT I hEAR ! - it sounds only 4/10... 😥
don’t know your, but mine (in despite of a very good care) has unfortunately lost all the pretty good quality of sound it have had when it was released... ;( it looks like because of the natural deterioration of the plastic itself, and maybe the not so good quality used at the manufacturing. i cannot see nothing else... because of too much undesired noises, it’s actually really difficult to play again. i think i will regret if i have to trash it a day ! - Classic brit soul groover of a tune but be warned this Island pressing is not the best. Flimsy lightweight vinyl, prone to warping, and mastered with a dipped mid as if the Loudness button has been left on. Much 80s vinyl suffers from these defects so not a crit of this particular 12". Don't avoid automatically but be aware.
- To me, this is a better set than the Larry Levan mixes on Mango, although they are ptretty awesome in their own right, they take away from the finesse and magic of these original versions. A British Hustle Classic!
