- Edited 12 years agoIzit's cover of the 1972 Chakachas tune has become a UK club classic in it's own right. The record epitomizes the period when Soul II Soul, Rare Groove and the Balearic warehouse scene were at their peaks. UK Hip Hop was getting hardcore and the Rave explosion was just around the corner!
The record captures the feel of 70's Funk and blends it with samples and an almost ambient Balearic vibe. For me, and I'm sure many others, this record was the signature tune for the summer of '89.
First time I set my eyes on this classic was at a stall in Notting Hill during the 1989 carnival... sweet summer with a London bird, danced to it for months before hand in dusty Brighton warehouses... Class!!! Are you sitting comfortably? Good, then I'll begin.....
