"The Forest" has a bit of dub tech influence, and some electro, and some gorgeous break beat and glitch. What a beautiful hodge podge of production genius. I have no idea how he came up with this conglomeration of sounds but wow!

It was February of 2005, I was in the record store where I bought my records. I was looking for the "Physical Fraction EP" and was gutted when that wasn't available in the store. The clerk said we do have "Beta Boy" instead. To be honest, I wasn't a fan of the A-Side, but neither was I of "Physical Fraction". I wanted the "Physical Fraction EP " record for tracks on the flip which is "Rykketid" & "Prana".

I'd been quite a fan of Anders Trentemøller for a while ever since his breakout release on Naked with the lush "Le Champagne", so I decided to give this one a go because I knew a mate of mine with great taste in music that was a big fan of "The Forest". So I strap on the cans and listen to "The Forest" in full and purchase it right away.

Starts with some piano twiddles and slowly goes into a dubby type m.o. until a drop comes in with a slight wash of affected pianos. It kicks off nicely after that with a quaint and quirky mid-tempo beat and the track just takes you on a small trip from there. Love it to death.

This is a superb minimal / tech house release. Trentemoller produces a rough an exciting journey with beta boy. It has a brilliant breakdown and is just a great tune. 'The forest' is a bit on the deeper side of things, going with the style of the 'Trentemoller EP' which was released on naked. This works very well in a deep house set, pure gold!

This is a lethal concoction. Rock stock electro with "Beta Boy" followed by quirky minimal redundancy "the forest". One of the labels finest, however, i got the whole catalogue in the box so far.
